Navigating copyright can be difficult, but our Copyright and Intellectual Property Librarian is available to guide faculty, students, and staff through copyright and intellectual property issues. Other services include detailed explanations of the permissions process, assistance with queries on specific items, and help understanding Creative Commons licenses.

Digital Collections
The USF Library’s Digital Collections includes a variety of formats, such as oral histories, photographs, monographs, serials, manuscripts, and diaries. Digital Collections staff provides a range of services in addition to maintaining these collections.
Digitization services are available for many types of materials (including print, large format items, slides, photographs, VHS, audio cassette, and LP) to support strategic research initiatives at the University of South Florida.
Additionally, consultations, workshops, and instruction sessions are available on topics including digital curation, oral histories, digital projects, and general best practices of the digitization process. We also work with faculty to evaluate existing collections to find content for potential classroom use.

GIS
The USF Tampa Library provides access to ArcGIS software (including ArcGIS online, ArcGIS desktop, and GeoNet). ESRI training materials are freely available to students and faculty in need of a general introduction to these resources. For advanced support or specific questions, one-on-one assistance is available.
Scholarly Communication
Questions about scholarly communication or digital literacy issues? DSS’s Scholarly Communications team is here to help.
We provide individual consultations and general workshops on topics like publishing, open access, author rights, data management, and general research process queries.
Our OA publishing program is housed on our institutional repository. Through Scholar Commons, we manage, create, and promote original open access (OA) content. We provide editorial, production, and technical support including textbooks and 17 peer-reviewed journals. This includes DOI look-up and registration, managing indexing in sites like DOAJ, and overseeing digital preservation of materials.
