Overview
These Information + Data Literacy canvas workshops and other resources represent a curated instructional experience which can enrich any lower or upper-level course with a research component. Assign one or more self-guided Canvas workshops and learning experiences to students directly or in collaboration with your librarian. <!–Our library instruction program is informed by the USF’s Enhanced General Education curriculum and the core concepts put forth by the Association of College and Research Libraries’ (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.Our canvas workshops, videos, and associated resources can be accessed via:
- Info + Data Literacy Playlists: These curated playlists are arranged thematically to align with USF’s Enhanced General Education curriculum.
- A-Z list: Create your own playlist by browsing workshops, videos, and library guides that can be filtered by level, discipline, and theme.
- Workshop Learning Outcomes: Browse through all the learning outcomes to identify workshops and videos that best meet your curricular needs.
- USF Libraries Instructional YouTube Channels: These channels offer short video tutorials – concise, helpful videos to help users navigate library websites, find and use resources, create and manage citations & more.
Earning Badges
Digital badging is a way that students can demonstrate accomplishment of newly learned knowledge and skills. The workshop modules listed here are all badge-earning, via the BADGR application. The opportunity to earn a badge for completing one or more of these workshops provides a:- Tangible incentive for the student who successfully completes them,
- Mechanism for professors to verify completion, and
- Integrates student completion data with platforms such as LinkedIn & Handshake, and is also used by the Career Services Career Readiness program.
Technical Requirements
To complete these workshops, it is recommended that students use a desktop computer which is able to play sound. Students may complete these workshops via mobile interface, but it’s recommended to use a desktop or laptop if possible.
