Earning Badges

Digital badging is a way that students can demonstrate accomplishment of newly learned knowledge and skills. The workshop modules listed here are all badge-earning, via the BADGR application. The opportunity to earn a badge for completing one or more of these workshops provides a:
  • Tangible incentive for the student who successfully completes them,
  • Mechanism for professors to verify completion, and
  • Integrates student completion data with platforms such as LinkedIn & Handshake, and is also used by the Career Services Career Readiness program.
Students earn a badge for a workshop if they complete all quizzes and graded activities in the workshop with a score of at least 60%. Upon successful completion of each Canvas workshop, a badge will be automatically emailed to the student. Students can share with faculty via email or upload the file to their Canvas course to verify completion of each individual workshop. Faculty may also offer extra credit for completion of these workshops.
